Motorola PHOTON 4G price and release date announced

Motorola PHOTON 4GMotorola’s first 4G phone for Sprint’s network, the PHOTON 4G, was announced early last month and was said to have a vague release date of this summer. Other than its specs, we didn’t have a price tag to the phone – until today. Sprint has just issued a press release concerning the phone’s pricing, and release date.

The Motorola PHOTON 4G will cost $199.99 with a new line or eligible upgrade and a two-year contract with Sprint. As for when the phone will arrive – it will go on sale at the end of the month on July 31st. However, Sprint Premier Customers will be able to get their hands on the phone 3 days early on July 28th.

Just to refresh your memory, the Motorola PHOTON 4G will pack a dual-core 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, a 4.3″ qHD display, a rear 8-megapixel camera and a VGA front-facing camera, 16GB of onboard memory with an SDcard slot for up to an additional 32GB, world phone capabilities, Sprint ID support, and of course Sprint 4G WiMAX connectivity and Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
