HP TopShot LaserJet Pro M275
Most of the printers available to consumers today have pretty much reached a plateau in terms of functionality, and quality so it usually boils down to what extra features manufacturers throw in or how low prices can go. Well HP’s recently announced printer at the annual global conference in Shanghai, China takes the former route by adding a unique feature to the device: the ability to take photographs with the printer itself!

Called the HP TopShot LaserJet Pro M275 features an extendable arm that works as a light source and a camera to take photographs of objects placed on the surface of the printer. Tired of having to manually transfer photographs from your camera to the computer? The TopShot eliminates that step by shooting pictures and letting you upload them from the printer rightaway.

Other standard wireless functions are present – ePrint, AirPrint for printing while you’re away from the computer, and the usual scan, print and copying features are all there. It can even run apps that help make life easier. No word on pricing or a release date but the printer will retail for $399.99. Check out a video of the TopShot LaserJet Pro M275 in action:
