HP has unveiled a pair of new Chromebook Plus laptops, including the HP Chromebook Plus 15.6-inch, which boasts a traditional clamshell design. The device is positioned as a versatile consumer tool, emphasizing its potential for productivity and creativity, driven by factors such as extended battery life, modern Intel processors, and access to Google’s AI-powered tools.

The HP Chromebook Plus 15.6-inch offers a 15.6-inch FHD (1920 x 1080) IPS panel with two screen options, one supporting up to a 144Hz refresh rate, while the other likely operates at 60Hz. Both screens feature micro-edge anti-glare displays but with a maximum brightness of 250 nits and a limited color gamut of 45% NTSC.

Under the hood, it houses an Intel Core i3-N305 processor, equipped with eight E-cores (8C/8T) and a maximum boost clock of 3.8GHz, providing a significant performance boost over older mobile Celeron and Pentium models. The Chromebook Plus 15.6-inch comes with 8GB of onboard RAM and storage options of either 128GB or 256GB, though this storage is non-upgradable UFS storage.

Despite its power-efficient processor, the Chromebook Plus 15.6-inch boasts a commendable battery life of up to 13 hours. It weighs 3.81 pounds and has dimensions of 14.28 inches in width, 9.51 inches in depth, and 0.78 inches in height.

The HP Chromebook Plus 15.6-inch will be available for purchase on October 8th, with a price of $599.99 USD on HP’s official website and $499 USD at Best Buy.
