iPhone bug receives iMessages, never mind the remote wipe
It seems that there is a bug in the iPhone that allows stolen handsets to be on the receiving end of iMessages even after running the remote wipe function. Reports of this happening are scattered here and there, although it does not seem to be widespread. Still, it is a concern, as stolen iPhones receive iMessages that were intended for their original owners, never mind after the number has been changed, Apple ID passwords reset and everything else is wiped off remotely. Different support threads on Apple’s website have popped up concerning the issue. What are some of the solutions available? We don’t really know though, although some users have discovered that wiping an iPhone when the original SIM card is still within will not end up with a clean reset, hence paving the way for the iMessage feature to be reactivated when the phone is restored.
