Samsung Galaxy S2: 5 million sold in South Korea

If you ever wondered how popular the Samsung Galaxy S2 is, you don’t need to look past where the phone came from to find out. It has been reported that Samsung has managed to sell 5 million units of the Android smartphone in South Korea alone. Taking into account the country’s population of 48 million people – that’s slightly more than 10% of the people living there who own a Galaxy S2 phone.

According to Japanese business daily, The Nikkei, it’s the first time that any cell phone has reached this milestone in South Korea. And despite being in a patent war with Apple in the rest of the world, Samsung recently decided not to take action against them – letting the sales of the smartphone speak for itself instead.
