Proview threatens vendors against selling Apple’s new iPad

It was only yesterday that Apple launched their new iPad, and if you were expecting them to launch the highly anticipated device without a hitch, you’d be mistaken. It seems that Proview has not forgotten their trademark dispute with Apple and has since issued warnings to suppliers and vendors in China against the sale of iPads or they would face legal action.

For those unfamiliar with the legal battle between Apple and Proview, the Chinese company is currently suing Apple for infringing upon its “iPad” trademark. Apple on the other hand claims that it legally bought the rights to the “iPad” trademark and are disputing Proview’s claims. The Chinese company has since attempted to have sales of the iPad halted and have even demanded damages from Apple that number in the billions. Apple has yet to comment on this matter, but we have to wonder if this will cause any delays with the new iPad’s launch in China.
