Samsung Galaxy Appeal hits the AT&T

AT&T has just introduced yet another budget-minded smartphone as part of its GoPhone prepaid program, resulting in the Samsung Galaxy Appeal appearing in the US markets. Now, the Galaxy Appeal will be slightly different from the other Galaxy range of smartphones simply because it comes with a slideout QWERTY keyboard. This makes it carry a very different form factor, although the rest of the smartphone is nothing to write home about, sporting Android 2.3 Gingerbread as the operating system of choice, an 800MHz Snapdragon S1 processor, a 3.2-inch HVGA display, 512MB RAM, and a 3-megapixel camera, making it a functional smartphone at best. Do not expect this to be the kind of mobile device you would want to watch your Netflix movies with, and first year college students on a budget might find the Samsung Galaxy Appeal to be…appealing, for the lack of a better word. Expect the Galaxy Appeal to retail for around $150 this June. [Press Release]
