Samsung Galaxy S3 arrives at the FCC for Verizon and Sprint versions
Five carriers will be on the receiving end of the Samsung Galaxy S3 this month, and it is nice to see that the necessary groundwork has been laid for at least two of the carriers – Verizon as well as Sprint. It seems that the good people over at the FCC have already published the necessary certification paperwork for both models, where Verizon’s model will be known as the SCH-I535, while those who are aligned with Sprint will receive the SPH-L710 model. Regardless of either model, they will come with the requisite frequency support for their respective CDMA loving carriers, accompanied by EV-DO data connectivity as well as LTE support for high-speed access. Verizon’s SCH-I535 does have an edge, since it boasts of additional support for GSM and EDGE data on the 850MHz and 1900MHz bands, delivering a semblance of basic global roaming coverage sans 3G data – which means you would be better off relying on a local Wi-Fi connection, of course.
