Samsung Galaxy S3 cleared for US launch on the 21st of June according to Judge’s ruling

Safe to say if this were to go through, subscribers who have placed their pre-orders through the major carriers and US Cellular would be hugely disappointed, not to mention very angry as well. The good news is that if you pre-ordered the Galaxy S3, everything appears to be going according to plan as Judge Lucy Koh has stated that the launch of the Galaxy S3 on the 21st of June will go as according to plan.

Before Samsung fans start cheering, it should be noted that the reason behind the Judge letting the Galaxy S3 slide is because by allowing for the injunction to be heard, it would overload her calendar especially since she is already presiding over another Apple versus Samsung lawsuit, not because the case has no merits (although we guess we won’t be finding out anytime soon). However Koh did state that Apple was free to file for a temporary restraining order although that would delay in Apple’s lawsuit against Samsung over alleged patent infringements pertaining to the Galaxy Tab 10.1 amongst other Samsung products. This isn’t to say that Apple won’t be trying again in the future, but for now it looks like the Samsung Galaxy S3 is clear for launch in the US.
