40% of device thefts in NYC are reportedly Apple products

Granted that pretty much most of our modern technology these days can be stolen and resold in black markets, there are naturally some products that are worth more than others simply because of the demand for them. Apparently Apple products top that list according to NYC’s Police Commissioner Ray Kelly, who said that 40% of device thefts in NYC belong to Apple. Yikes! This isn’t to say that you should never bring your gadgets out with you, but we guess common sense would dictate that you should be aware of your surroundings. Of course NYC isn’t the only place in the world where gadgets are stolen, but we guess it’s a pretty astounding figure that Apple products account for 40% of them!
