Verizon announces BlackBerry Curve 9310

RIM is certainly not a company that investors are flocking towards to drop their money into their stock, but that does not mean RIM is far from finished. They still control a sizeable portion of the enterprise smartphone market, and having said that, hopefully the leadership can turn things around as it would be a shame to see them go belly up in the future after contributing the term ‘crackberry’ to the English vocabulary. Verizon keeps the Blackberry flag flying with the BlackBerry Curve 9310, where this slim smartphone intends to ease customers who have decided to ditch a basic handset and take the plunge into the world of smartphones.

Basically, the BlackBerry Curve 9310 comes with its core BlackBerry messaging and social-centric applications, the iconic BlackBerry keyboard for quick and easy typing and a dedicated BBM key that lets you access RIM’s hugely popular mobile social network in a jiffy. Other hardware and software specifications include a 3.2-megapixel camera, VZ Navigator capability, a microSD memory card slot, and Parental Controls amongst others. Expect the BlackBerry Curve 9310 to arrive at Verizon this July 12th, where it will cost $49.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate with a new two-year contract. [Press Release]
