YouTube face blurring tool introduced

Have you ever had an experience which was recorded on video and shown to all and sundry to see your moment of idiocy? If you have answered in the affirmative, then you would have wished that Google had rolled out a new face blurring tool for YouTube far earlier. Basically, all that is required are a few clicks, and you are able to disguise figures in your YouTube videos as though it was done professionally.

Amanda Conway, YouTube policy associate, mentioned, “Whether you want to share sensitive protest footage without exposing the faces of the activists involved, or share the winning point in your 8-year-old’s basketball game without broadcasting the children’s faces to the world, our face blurring technology is a first step towards providing visual anonymity for video on YouTube.”

The process is not surprisingly simple, where the moment you have picked the video you would like to edit using the Video Enhancements tool, just head on to Additional Features and click the “Apply” button below to Blur All Faces. Prior to publishing, you can always check out preview of your video, prior to saving all the changes made before being asked whether you would like to delete the original video or not.
