Samsung Galaxy Note 2 split screen feature goes MIA

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 was released in South Korea at the end of last month, while the US release is set to happen at the end of this month for folks living in the US. As for those who actually picked up the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 in South Korea or imported one from that part of the world, you might notice that one of the trumped up features, a split-screen display, is missing. The South Korean model of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 was demonstrated in the past to offer split-screen multitasking in a video, but having it go missing in the final release does not bode well for Samsung.

Could this be due to the tight deadlines involved in preparing the firmware for the international version of the phablet? Not making excuses on Samsung’s part, but we are trying to understand just why this happened. Perhaps Samsung did not have enough time to make sure that the split-screen mode is up and running, and hopefully Samsung has no intention of ditching this feature as it does look like a winner. We are keeping our fingers crossed that a split screen feature will be introduced in an update sometime down the road.
