eBay puts restrictions on sale of Nexus 4 due to overwhelming demand

Google Nexus 4 ReviewAs some of you guys are aware, the Nexus 4 is a pretty damn popular device and backorders are stretching into 2013, and what this means is that there is no shortage of enterprising sellers on eBay who don’t mind waiting until 2013 and would rather sell their new and perhaps unopened Nexus 4 on eBay at a higher price, cashing in on the craze and customers who don’t mind paying more to own it now. In fact it’s become so popular on eBay that the auction website has since released a statement, advising eBay sellers to take advantage of the demand, while at the same time imposing some restrictions to help prevent fraudulent sales.

Basically if you’re new to eBay, you will only be able to list one Nexus 4 per week, while authorized resellers will be able to list as many as they have in stock. While this seemingly affects sellers, what it means to buyers is that it could be even harder to get your hands on a Nexus 4 with these restrictions in place – yikes! Either way be careful if you buy it online as there are probably just as many unscrupulous sellers looking to cash in with a fake product or listing.
