Older Motorola devices to receive Android 4.1 in Q1 2013

If you own a Motorola smartphone that isn’t the DROID RAZR M, DROID RAZR HD or the DROID RAZR MAXX HD, you are probably wondering when you will be receiving the highly anticipated Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update. With its new features, particularly that of Project Butter that will transform your Android experience into a smooth and “buttery” one, we expect that many Motorola users are clamoring for it, assuming they haven’t flashed an Android 4.1-based ROM by now. Well Motorola has recently updated their upgrade plans and if you own an older Motorola device, it looks like you will have to wait until Q1 2013 before you see the update. According to Motorola:

UNITED STATES (Verizon, AT&T, Sprint)
– ATRIX HD (MB866): Jelly Bean (Android 4.1) upgrade to begin in Dec. 2012
– PHOTON Q (XT897): Will be upgraded to Jelly Bean (Android 4.1)
– ELECTRIFY 2 (XT881): Will be upgraded to Jelly Bean (Android 4.1)
– ELECTRIFY M (XT901): Jelly Bean (Android 4.1) upgrade to begin in Q1 2013
– DROID RAZR (XT912): Will be upgraded to Jelly Bean (Android 4.1)
– DROID RAZR MAXX (XT912): Will be upgraded to Jelly Bean (Android 4.1)
– DROID 4 (XT894): Will be upgraded to Jelly Bean (Android 4.1)
– DROID BIONIC (XT875): Will be upgraded to Jelly Bean (Android 4.1)
– MOTOROLA XOOM WiFi + 3G/LTE (MZ600 / MZ602): Jelly Bean (Android 4.1) upgrade to begin in Q1 2013
