Apple’s iTunes Radio Music Streaming Service Announced

It has been rumored since last year that Apple was going to announce a new music streaming service at WWDC 2013, it indeed has. Instead of calling it iRadio, they’re actually calling it iTunes Radio. Apple says that it is an amazing new way to discover music. On iOS 7 it is built right in to the music app. It is actually quite similar to Pandora, which doesn’t come as a surprise, since that had already been rumored. iTunes Radio will display featured stations front and center. Users will have the ability to share stations with their friends, or even start a new one based on a song.

Users will also have the option to buy tracks they listen on radio stations through iTunes. As expected, iTunes Radio is available for free for everyone, though it is going to be an ad-supported version. Those who are iTunes Match subscribers will get the ad-free version of iTunes Radio.
