With Vine’s rise in popularity, we’re not completely surprised to hear Facebook may be considering adding video to its Instagram service, which the company may possibly announce during its June 20 press event.

The claim Instagram may start to support video comes from TechCrunch who is citing a source who has knowledge of Facebook’s plans. Similar to Vine’s 6-second video limit, Instagram videos would be limited to allow 5 to 10 seconds of footage to be uploaded by a user. Whether or not Facebook will make their announcement on June 20 is still up in the air as there are also reports of the company possibly launching an RSS reader as an alternative to Google Reader, which will be shut down in just a few weeks.

Facebook’s press event being held on June 20 will take place in their Menlo Park, California headquarters. Whatever Facebook has planned to announce that day, we’ll definitely be keeping an eye out and letting you know as soon as possible, so be sure to mark your calendars.
