Today a minor software update is being rolled out for T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 2. Its an incremental update, the device doesn’t jump up from Android 4.1.2, it comes with various “security enhancements” as well as a new feature that’s called “Smart Switch.” Just yesterday the carrier rolled out a minor software update for HTC One as well. That particular update brought system improvements and fixed sensitivity of back and home capacitive buttons on the HTC One.

T-Mobile hasn’t explained these “security enhancements” in the release notes, but that’s not a reason to pass on this update. Its better to be safe than sorry. Smart Switch isn’t exactly a major feature, its a tool that lets users transfer content between Samsung devices. Available only for unrooted devices, the update can either be installed via Samsung Kies or over-the-air. The OTA update has started rolling out today and will continue to be delivered till 17th June. Even though the file size of this T-Mobile Galaxy Note 2 update is just 15MB, it is recommended that the device have at least 50% battery before download and installation.
