Alleged Olympus E-M1 Specs Revealed

Olympus-OM-D-E-M5-28Word on the street has it that Olympus is set to announce a new camera by the end of the year, although some are predicting an end of summer announcement. The camera in question is that of the Olympus E-M1 and according to the folks at PhotoRumors, they have managed to get their hands on the alleged specifications of the device. According to their report, the E-M1 is expected to feature a DSLR-like design which will be similar to the Olympus E-M5, although it is said to sport a slightly larger grip that could possibly come with an additional control dial. The E-M1 is also expected to sport a Micro Four Thirds mount, come with a 16MP image sensor, 81 AF points, a 3” LCD display that can be tilted at varying angles, an electronic viewfinder with 2.3 million pixels, a max shutter of 1/8000, 10fps shooting capabilities, and will come with built-in WiFi, presumably to allow the transfer of photos wirelessly from the camera to a mobile device or a laptop. Those features don’t sound too bad but since they are hardly official specs, do take it with a grain of salt for now.
