Olympus has been making cameras and camera related technology for decades. Now it seems that the company could be applying some of their decades-long industry experience to future Samsung smartphones, or at least that’s what a report from PulseNews is saying where the report claims that we might see a Samsung and Olympus team up.

According to the report, it claims that for the Samsung Galaxy S22, Samsung and Olympus might team up. We’re not sure what exactly the partnership will entail and what Olympus could contribute to the technology of the phone, but it definitely sounds interesting. These types of partnerships aren’t unheard of.

We’ve seen Huawei and Leica team up in the past, so for Olympus to lend their expertise or technology to Samsung isn’t that much of a stretch of the imagination. The report goes on to claim that for the Galaxy S22, Samsung might bump the sensor up to a whopping 200MP. It sounds like overkill and chances are it is, but it would be an impressive display of technology.

The Galaxy S22 will only arrive in 2022 so it is a bit early to start talking about it, so take this with a grain of salt for now until more details can be fleshed out.
