The LG Optimus L9 smartphone was announced back in August 2012. T-Mobile was to carry this device, offering it for $49.99 with a two year contract. Back in February it was rumored that Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for Optimus L9 will be released in the second half of 2013. April 22nd brought this update, however in May T-Mobile paused its roll-out amid complaints of excessive battery drain and more from users. At the time T-Mobile said that the update was being paused so that they can “improve performance.” Android 4.1.2 build P76902f for Optimus L9 has now been rolled out for the carrier’s subscribers.

Users will be able to install this update over-the-air, a stable internet connection would be required. Apart from bumping Android OS up to 4.1.2, this latest update brings a number of security enhancements as well. The update itself is just shy of 356MB. Hopefully previous complaints of excessive battery drain, apps frequently crashing and difficulties in receiving calls have been taken care of. The update has been available for over a couple of days now, if you’ve already installed it do let us know if it fixes any of the aforementioned problems.
