Cheaper Moto X Coming, Says Motorola’s CEO

The Moto X was announced to much fanfare earlier this morning, and with good reason, too. Since then, a slew of news concerning the Moto X too, was released, including a Google Play Edition of the Moto X being a very real possibility sometime down the road to keep up with the rest of the competition, apart from the Moto X not making it to the UK, will be available on Sprint with a lifetime unlimited guarantee plan, and will even ship with a free wireless headset when you place a pre-order for it on US Cellular. We even managed to spend some hands-on time with the Moto X if you cannot get enough of this particular device.

Of course, forking out $199 with a 2-year contract attached to this phone is something that most folks would be familiar with, and considering the handset is not a high end model, but rather, contains mid-range parts, there are certain quarters who did hope to pick up the handset at a lower price. Good news then, as Motorola’s CEO, Dennis Woodside, shared over in an interview with CNET that a cheaper Moto X handset is in the pipeline. Woodside said, “We want everyone to have access to affordable smartphones. Moto X is the brand that we are most focused on… and there is more to come. You will see additional products within months.”
