Over the last few months we’ve consistently heard rumors that perhaps Sony might offer a “mini” variant of its Xperia z1 a.k.a Honami smartphone. There have been a couple of leaks as well which point towards this possibility. A NTT DoCoMo catalog has alleged leaked which details the specifications of a smartphone called Xperia Z1 F. From the looks of it, this particular smartphone seems to be the much rumored Honami Mini, or the Sony Xperia Z1 Mini.

It has already been rumored that the Xperia Z1’s mini version will be different from the likes of Galaxy S4 Mini and HTC One Mini. Those devices not only have smaller displays, but they also have relatively less spectacular hardware. This isn’t said to be the case for Xperia Z1 mini. Even the catalog lists Xperia Z1 f having the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quadcore processor that its sibling has, same 2GB RAM and 20.7 megapixel rear camera and the same metal and glass build. Only the display, battery and onboard storage will apparently be different. The Honami Mini is said to have a 4.3 inch 720p LCD display as opposed to the Xperia Z1’s 5 inch full HD 1080p display. Onboard storage is down from 32GB to 16GB and battery too has been downsized from 3,000mAh to 2,300mAh. The alleged NTT DoCoMo catalog hints that the Xperia Z1 f will be available in four colors. There’s still the possibility that this might be a fake catalog, but it does reiterate most of the rumors we’ve already heard about the Honami mini. As of now, it is not known when this device will be launched in Japan or in other markets. [Images via Xperiablog]
