GTA 5 Used Real Gangsters To Voice Gangsters In The Game

gta5-collectors-special-edition-2Rockstar’s upcoming Grand Theft Auto 5 is probably one of the most highly-anticipated games of 2013 and based on what we’ve seen, the game looks good and we imagine it will be quite hard for Rockstar to disappoint. However as they say, the devil is in the details, and that’s one of the things Rockstar really paid attention to because it seems that the gang members featured in the video game have actually been voiced by real life gangsters to add that touch of authenticity!

According to radio host Lazlow when speaking about hiring real life gang members to do the audio recording, “You don’t want a goofy L.A. actor who went to a fancy school trying to be a hard gang member, there’s nothing worse than that. Just go find the real, terrifying people, and say [to them], ‘Can you come in here please?’ And they look at the lines and say, ‘I wouldn’t say that. If I was upset at another gang I wouldn’t say that.’ [And so you say] ‘Then say what you would say!'” Talk about attention to detail!

While Hollywood actors have no problems portraying gangsters in movies, we guess the folks at Rockstar wanted the real deal. That being said, this makes us want to play the game even more now. Grand Theft Auto 5 is expected to see a release on the 17th of September 2013, so we guess we won’t have to wait too long.
