Republic Wireless Could Offer Moto X For $299 Off Contract

nexusae0_zPG62zK_thumbThe Motorola Moto X smartphone might not be the most powerful Android handset in the market at the moment, although it does come with some pretty innovative and interesting features, not to mention its customizability, that could appeal to some customers. However at the same time the device is rather pricey given that one could always pick up a Galaxy S4 or Xperia Z or a HTC One for around the same price, if not cheaper. If you wanted the Moto X but felt that it was a bit too pricey for a phone with mid-ranged hardware specs, you might be in luck because a leaked screenshot has shown that the Republic Wireless could offer the handset off contract for a very affordable $299.

Assuming that it true, the handset will be a good $300 cheaper than unsubsidized models offered by other carriers or retailers in the US, and $100 more than if you were to buy the handset on contract with AT&T, Verizon, or Sprint. Republic Wireless had teased an image recently and presumably that teaser might have to do with the Moto X being priced so affordably. It is unclear if the handset will be fully unlocked and usable on other carriers, but even if it’s not, $299 seems like a good deal. In any case we’ll keep our eyes peeled for more info, but what do you guys think? Would you pick up the Moto X on Republic Wireless if it were priced at $299 off contract?
