Microsoft Will Honor Early Lumia 1520 Pre-Orders

Nokia-Lumia-1520-012As we had reported earlier, Microsoft’s pre-order page for the Nokia Lumia 1520 showed that the device would be released on the 15th of November. Unfortunately this was not true as the page has since been taken down. While Microsoft has yet to announce the official release date (as it stands it is rumored for the 22nd of November), they have acknowledged that the original pre-order page was put up by mistake and a little ahead of time. Well the good news for gung-ho customers who placed their pre-order is that Microsoft has stated that they will be honoring the pre-orders that have been placed on the website while it was still up.

However by honoring the pre-orders, what this means is that Microsoft will still accept your money, but will only ship the device once it has been released, as opposed to honoring the actual release date. We know some of you guys were hoping that it meant honoring the release date as it would be awesome to receive the handset earlier than everyone else, but we guess that will not be happening. The upside is should the device prove to be extremely popular and sells out quickly, you can rest assured that you will have a copy of the device reserved with your name on it way before hand, but other than that you will still receive it later than you have originally thought. What do you guys think? Should Microsoft have honored the release date as well?
