The launch of the PlayStation 4 didn’t go without a few bumps and bruises along the way as the day the console launched, PlayStation Network suffered from a number of issues that didn’t allow many owners of the new console to connect to upgrade the device. Today, it looks like the PlayStation Network has been going through some issues in North America as Sony has sent out messages to reset passwords on a number of PSN accounts as a precautionary measure.

The reason for Sony issuing password resets for North American PlayStation Network accounts is due to irregular activity. “If you are getting an error that your PSN account password is incorrect, you may need to reset it,” said a moderator of the North American PlayStation forums. “We routinely monitor for irregular activity, and if such activity is detected, we may sometimes reset passwords of affected SEN accounts to protect consumers and their account information.”

If you find that you are receiving a message saying your password is incorrect, Sony urges you to visit the following page in order to successfully reset your password. Let’s just hope Sony was able to change your password in time to save you from any unwanted access to your PSN account.
