Samsung Galaxy S3 Slim Is Actually Rebranded Galaxy Win Pro

galaxy-s3-slimIt was not too long ago that we talked about how South Korean conglomerate Samsung mentioned about a (then) unknown quantity in the form of the Samsung Galaxy S3 Slim in Brazil. Of course, there was some excitement and buzz in the air considering how it seemed to be a new handset, but upon closer inspection, it does seem as though the Samsung Galaxy S3 Slim is actually nothing more than a rebranded Samsung Galaxy Win Pro smartphone. The Samsung Galaxy Win Pro itself has been made available in China since December last year, where it is also set to arrive in India soon, too.

One can only assume that the Samsung Galaxy S3 Slim was so named that way because the older Galaxy S3, which used to be the smartphone manufacturer’s flagship device before it was ousted by the Galaxy S4 and soon at the end of this month, the Galaxy S5. This made it popular in Brazil as well as the other emerging markets, so why bother to reinvent the wheel? The Galaxy S3 Slim shares similar dimensions and weight as the Galaxy Win Pro at 133mm x 66mm x 9.7mm and 139 grams, not to mention the same model number of SM-G3812, with similar features that range from Android 4.2 Jelly Bean to a 4.5″ TFT display with 540 x 960 pixels.
