At CES 2014 earlier this year in January Sony showed off PlayStation Now. its a game streaming service that’s based on Gaikai, a service that Sony acquired for $380 million. The company started a private beta for PS Now after unveiling it to the world and not much have been said about it since. Sony broke its silence today to announce that the PlayStation Now beta for PS4 is starting tomorrow. Beta testers will now be able to stream classic PS games on their next generation console.

Since it was first unveiled the PS Now beta has only been available on the PlayStation 3. On May 20th the beta will finally expand for the first time to the PlayStation 4. Those who have registered for the PS Now Private Beta should keep an eye on their mailboxes for a voucher code.

PS Now allows users to stream games without needing any discs or having to download any files. Games are streamed like movies or music, obviously a strong internet connection is required, Sony recommends above 5Mbps. First PS Now supported devices include the PS3, PS4, select 2014 Bravia TVs and the PlayStation Vita.

Sony reveals that the Private Beta program has been going well so far and that testers have logged more than 50,000 hours of gameplay. The company says its “eager” to launch PS Now more widely but doesn’t reveal when a public release might take place.
