Beats Powerbeats2 Wireless Earbuds Launched

Apple-owned Beats today announced its new earbuds which build up on the success of the original Powerbeats. The have been designed with input from NBA superstar LeBron James, who also endorsed the original version. Simply called Powerbeats2, the earbuds get a new design and perhaps the biggest selling point is that they’re now wireless. These are actually the first Bluetooth-backed wireless fitness-oriented earbuds from Beats.

Since they’re geared toward people who like to listen to music while they work out or go for a run, it was imperative to make sure that Powerbeats2 stayed in place no matter how tough the workout. They have adjustable rubberized hooks to ensure that they stay in place during a run or a workout. There’s a flat cable that runs between the two earpieces along with a built-in microphone for phone calls.

Powerbeats2 customers might appreciate the fact they won’t have to tolerate a swaying cord while running or even playing a sport. These earbuds truly stay out of the way while making sure that the user is not only connected to their music but to phone calls as well. Battery is said to be good for up to six hours of use, with a 15 minute charge providing an hour of backup at the very least.

The Powerbeats2 earbuds will be available in stores later this month. They will be sold for $200 in black, white and the signature red color.
