Control VR comes in the form of wearable technology which will rely on a number of sensors which is capable of measuring one’s arm, hand and even finger movements. Seven sensors are located on each arm, allowing the Control VR to deliver finer movement control compared to an optical system. Since each finger sports its own small sensor alongside the wrist and elbow and chest, it is extremely sensitive even to the most minute of movements.
These DARPA-developed sensors will come with a trio of gyroscopes, three accelerometers and three magnetometers in order to keep tabs on all that is going on around it. It can function as an input device, and right now, the Control VR team is trying to raise funds via Kickstarter to make it a reality.
$350 will net one a single arm system alongside a SDK (software development kit), while double sided kits which will make use of both arms and hands for control will begin from $600.
