Imagine waiting for a major Android update only to have the roll out put on hold a few days after said update goes live. Its frustrating to say the least. That’s exactly what happened with the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active. In April AT&T released the KitKat update but put it on hold after a couple of days. Now the Galaxy S4 Active i537 Android 4.4 update is being pushed out the second time around.

Hopefully users will be lucky the second time and will have ample time to update their devices. Back when the roll out was halted it was said that AT&T and Samsung were looking to make “potential improvements” to the update. Its available for download over Wi-Fi only and includes multiple improvements apart from bumping up core Android OS to version 4.4 KitKat.

AT&T and Samsung have definitely tweaked the update as both the baseband and build numbers of this release are different than the previous one. It brings call reliability and copy/paste improvements and also makes camera app accessible from the lock screen. Users will now find it easier to insert pictures and videos in email or messages, according to the changelog.

The update will automatically pop up on Galaxy S4 Active i537s on AT&T when it goes live in a particular region. It should weigh in between 67MB – 841MB, depending upon the user’s OS version.
