Multiple reports coming in from South Korea suggest that Samsung might soon launch its much rumored “premium” variant of the Galaxy S5 very soon. Widely known as the Galaxy S5 Prime its possible that it may be called Galaxy F when it is formally announced. Not only will the refreshed variant bring a faster processor but its also expected to bring a Quad HD display. According to reports a local carrier has already started taking pre-orders.

Carriers down in South Korea are preparing to launch an even faster LTE-Advanced network that offers theoretical download speeds of 225Mbps. Obviously not every LTE-compatible device is going to work on the network. Samsung’s Galaxy F is believed to be one of the first devices to have support for the faster LTE network and KT, the largest carrier in South Korea, is reportedly taking pre-orders for a smartphone that supports said network.

All major carriers, KT, SK and LG U+, are believed to fire up the 225Mbps LTE-A networks later this month. Even LG is believed to be working on an souped-up variant of the G3 which would bring support for the faster data speeds.

While there has been no confirmation of either variant by both LG and Samsung, an official for the former told The Korea Times that the company is concentrating on the existing G3 variant for now.
