Sprint Galaxy S4 Mini And Galaxy Mega Recieve KitKat Update

A day after it released an update bringing Wi-Fi calling for the Galaxy S5, Sprint today released the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for two additional Samsung devices on its network. Galaxy S4 mini and Galaxy Mega are the devices that receive the KitKat update from Sprint today. Roll out has already begun over-the-air. The update more or less brings the same features and changes to both devices.

You’re not going to miss the new lock screen access after updating to Android 4.4.2 or Sprint Galaxy S4 mini or Galaxy Mega. Media controls will be available on the lock screen apart from a camera shortcut that lets you access the camera app from the lock screen. The update will also allow you to choose the default application for sending and receiving text messages.

Subtle user interface changes will be visible. These include restyled status and navigation bars which are now translucent and can sit on top of applications. Status bar icons are also simplified. A new location menu provides consolidated location settings in one place.

It may take a while for the update to become available across all regions so a bit of waiting might be involved if you’re wondering why it hasn’t popped up on your device just yet. Alternatively you may also try manually mashing the update button in order to get a piece of KitKat.
