Metal-clad Samsung Galaxy Alpha Rumored For Announcement Next Month

samsung-galaxy-s5-review-022When it comes to materials used in Samsung’s smartphones, the South Korean tech giant has typically gone with plastic, although with the Galaxy S5 and the Galaxy Note 3, Samsung has chosen to go with texture backs instead, although admittedly they are still made of plastic. Now the question is with HTC and Sony and Apple releasing smartphones made with metal, when is Samsung’s turn?

Well according to recent reports out of South Korea via ETNews, word on the street has it that Samsung could be working on a new Android smartphone called the Galaxy Alpha, and that one of the key features of the phone is that it will feature a metal build. In fact, the report goes on to claim that the Galaxy Alpha could be announced as soon as next month.

Apparently the Galaxy Alpha will be in a category of its own and will not be part of the Galaxy S series of Android handsets, which we guess is similar to what Samsung has done with the Galaxy Mega and the Galaxy Note series. Interestingly enough the rumor sounds a lot like the Galaxy F handset, which will apparently feature a metal build and a QHD display.

Could the Galaxy Alpha be the Galaxy F renamed, or vice versa? No word on the alleged specs of the Galaxy Alpha so we can’t be sure if it is the same device we’re talking about, but do take the rumor with a grain of salt for now, but check back with us next month where hopefully Samsung would have announced something.
