Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Retina Scanner Possible

We have heard many rumors in the past that claimed Samsung would introduce retina scanners in its mobile devices. So far it hasn’t done that though it did add a fingerprint scanner to the Galaxy S5. This September the company is due to unveil the Galaxy Note 4. If a tweet by one of Samsung’s official Twitter accounts is construed as a hint then its possible that the upcoming flagship phablet might feature a retina scanner.

Theoretically a retina scanner would be a major improvement for mobile device security. As has been demonstrated multiple times it is not exactly that hard to fool a fingerprint sensor, a widely known method works with both iPhone 5s and the Galaxy S5. A retina scanner would not grant access unless the device owner scans his or her retina.

In a tweet the official @SamsungExynos account posted an image of a smartphone with focus on the user’s eye. The accompanying caption reads “Security can be improved using features unique to us.” It may very well be a subtle hint towards what would arguably be one of the biggest features of the Galaxy Note 4.

Other rumors suggest that the Galaxy Note 4 is going to have a 5.7-inch Quad HD display as well as a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor with Adreno 420 graphics processor and 3GB of RAM. Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy S5 at IFA 2014 in Berlin this September.
