Twitch is a popular service used by gamers to broadcast their gameplay sessions. It happens to be one of the biggest drivers of traffic in North America. It is available for a variety of platforms and a device doesn’t necessarily have to be able to broadcast gameplay in order to allow users to view streams from other gamers. The official Twitch Android app has been revamped and it brings a number of changes, including but not limited to a new user interface.

The design team behind this app has created a new modern user interface which immediately puts the biggest streams right where the user would want them. The new user interface is also better suited to tablets and users will notice several enhancements when they update this app on their Android tablets.

User profiles are a new addition to the Twitch Android app. Profiles will let users find out more about any channel whether it’s offline or online. Users can follow a channel or even chat with other users if the broadcaster isn’t live yet.

They have also made refinements to improve the app’s search functionality. It is possible to search for a broadcaster who is offline by simply going into the People tab. Users can now swipe right and left between channels, games and people.

The new Twitch app is available for download right now from the Google Play Store.
