Apple Begins Promoting Beats Music To Its Customers

beats-music-logo-red-purpleNow that the sales of Beats to Apple has been officially completed, it seems that Apple is wasting no time at putting their new acquisition straight to work. According to several reports, it seems that Apple has been sending out emails to their customers where they are trying to promote the Beats Music streaming service.

For those unfamiliar, Beats Music is a streaming service that was launched earlier this year. Given Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine’s connections in the music industry, the service boasted a pretty impressive catalogue right out of the door, although it was a little controversial in its pricing scheme as they did not offer a free tier, which other streaming services did.

Instead users were given a free trial period after which they were expected to pay for the service in order to keep using it, thus making it seem slightly more premium that other services. That being said, the Beats Music app is now listed as part of the “Apps by Apple” category in the iTunes App Store.

However unlike the Beats headphones that made it into a new section on Apple’s online store, Apple does not appear to be offering up any kind of discount or promotion for subscribing to the Beats Music service. We also have to wonder what will become of iTunes Radio now that Apple has started to give Beats more of its attention.
