That being said if you’re the owner of an iPhone 5, you might be interested to learn that Apple has discovered an issue with some iPhone 5 units where the battery has been affected.

According to Apple, they have discovered a very small percentage of iPhone 5 units that have been affected by this issue which has led to shorter than expected battery life. According to them, this batch of iPhone 5 units that are affected were sold between September 2012 through January 2013, so if you bought your iPhone 5 then, your device could be one of the affected unit.

To determine if your iPhone 5 is one of the affected units, Apple has asked their customers to head on over to their website where they can enter their iPhone 5’s serial number to check to see if their phone is on the list. If it is, these customers will be able to send their phones into an Apple Authorized Service Provider, Apple Store, or send it off to Apple themselves to get it fixed.

As it stands the coverage of the part swap is only available in both the US and China, although Apple is expected to extend it to other countries on the 29th of August. So, any of our readers unfortunate enough to have one of the affected units?
