Those looking towards Apple to launch an upgrade for its set-top box have been disappointed this year. What the company has done however is significantly increase the number of content sources that are available to owners of the Apple TV. Yet another source has been added today. This time around its the premium network Showtime, which makes its first appearance on Apple’s set-top box.

Users can now stream content via the Showtime Anytime app. Free full episodes of select shows are also available through it. Those who have an authenticated subscription with a TV provider can also view live broadcasts, or else they can simply use it to watch content on-demand.

AT&T U-Verse, Comcast Xfinity, Cox, Bright House Networks, DIRECTV, Optimum, Verizon FiOS, Time Warner Cable and a handful of regional provides are supported. An active subscription to the Showtime network is required to unlock full content on the app. Shows available through the app include hits like Dexter and Homeland as well as House of Lies, Californication and Ray Donovan.

Showtime Anytime app for Apple TV comes less than a week after NFL Now was launched for the set-top box. A couple of weeks back the FOX Now network and CNBC were also added as content sources to the Apple TV, making sure that there’s always something for everyone.
