Xiaomi Removes Xiaomi Mi 3 From India Market

China-based Xiaomi did make use of a similar marketing tactic over in India concerning their Xiaomi Mi 3 smartphone, where the company was touted to have sold 95,000 units of the smartphone in a short amount of time. Just how fast did the Xiaomi Mi 3 manage to fly off the store shelves? If their claim were to be believed, we were looking at a block of 15,000 handsets that actually sold out in a matter of just two seconds, how insane is that? Apparently, the sales occurred via India’s top online retailer, Flipkart. Well, it looks like Xiaomi will be pulling out the Xiaomi Mi 3 smartphone from the India market now, and instead will switch over to the entry-level Xiaomi Redmi 1S as well as the phablet known as the Xiaomi Redmi Note.

Expect the Xiaomi Redmi 1S to go on sale over in India this coming 2nd of September, where it will carry an equivalent retail price of $99. There will be 40,000 units of that particular smartphone made available to those who are interested, and we do expect it to sell like hot cakes too, if the sales “performance” of its past products were to be an indicator.

Why pull out a top shelf unit and gun for an entry-level model instead? Perhaps it is easier to mass produce the Redmi series, and that would also work out better for Xiaomi in the long run.
