Industry Expert: Apple Engages In ‘Modern-Form Of Slavery’

iphone 6_2Whine all you want about how the iPhone 6 (as well as the iPhone 6 Plus, of course) does not really push the envelope when it comes to technological breakthroughs, the demand for it is still sky high. In fact, an industry expert has stepped forward to lay claim that Apple customers’ desire for the new handsets are now attributed to both ‘habit and necessity’ instead of for technological innovation in the right direction.

According to James Hart, Strategy Director at global media agency Carat, he mentioned that Apple has such a monopoly over its customers, the Apple brand’s ‘consumer love’ is starting to be taken over by a ‘modern form of ‘slavery’.

In fact, a U.S. mobile carrier did come up with an ‘iPhone for Life’ plan that, as its name suggests will be able to offer customers a guaranteed iPhone upgrade once every couple of years, which means those who foresee that they will not use any other kind of device other than the iPhone will be able to enjoy a far more cost-effective option. What do you think of the industry expert’s claim? Does it hold any water, or is this just making a mountain out of a molehill? To each his or her own, I say.
