If you don’t want to strap a Moto 360 to your child’s wrist but would like to have peace of mind when they’re out of your eyesight or earshot then AT&T has just the right product for you. Last year the carrier released the FiLIP smartwatch. Meant for kids, this wearable device allows parents to keep an eye on their children as it features GPS, voice calling and direct message, all of which can be controlled through a mobile app. FiLIP 2 is now out and better than its predecessor.

AT&T describes FiLIP as a “wearable smart locator with voice” aimed at children ages 4 to 11. The design of this device remains the same but it now has a more natural wrist shape and better flexibility which makes it more comfortable for kids to wear.

It even has optional size spacers now so kids have the choice to wear the FiLIP 2 open or closed, and adjust the size according to their need. FiLIP 2 also has an encased screen that’s more durable in order to reduce risk of accidental breakage.

The mobile app has also been improved for both iOS and Android with a new user interface and easier set-up process. iOS app is available at launch whereas the improved Android app will be available “shortly.”

AT&T is selling the FiLIP 2 for $99.99 promotional price for a limited time. It can be added to a Mobile Share Value plan or a separate plan can be purchased for $10 per month.
