PlayStation 1 Games Running On Android Wear Smartwatch

You might have read about the guy who was able to get Windows 95 up and running on the Samsung Gear Live smartwatch. The guy, who goes by EpicLPer, is back once again and this time around he has been able to run PlayStation 1 games on the Android Wear powered LG G Watch. His method essentially brings games for the first generation PlayStation console to your wrist, though obviously the G Watch is not a device that can double as an archaic gaming console.

The G Watch does have enough power under its hood to run PS1 games. It packs a Snapdragon 400 processor with 512MB RAM, 4GB onboard storage and an Adreno 305 graphics processor. The PlayStation 1 on the other hand had a 33.9MHz RISC processor with 2MB RAM and a 1MB graphics processor with basic 3D texture mapping, shading and fading, rendering etc.

EpicLPer has got ePSXe up and running on the LG G Watch. ePSXe is one of the most popular PlayStation emulators available for Android though it doesn’t officially support Google’s platform for wearable devices.

The only problem is that the G Watch’s 1.65-inch display isn’t big enough for you to actually enjoy playing a game using the on-screen buttons. Nevertheless, watch the video embedded above to get an idea of how PlayStation 1 games running on an Android Wear look like.
