Many Lumia 930 users have complained about various issues related to the display on this smartphone. Some have experienced their units overheat, others talk about screen discolorations. This certainly puts a dent in the user experience which is something that manufacturers try to keep at its best. Microsoft has reportedly heard the cries for help and is now developing a fix for Lumia 930 display issues.

The information was actually provided by the official @LumiaHelp Twitter account which provides “global help from Microsoft technical experts for Lumia and Nokia-branded devices.”

“We have been made aware of an issue where the displays on a limited number of Lumia 930 units are exhibiting discolourations,” the account says, explaining that this happens because of the performance of the display in certain brightness conditions. Microsoft has identified the root cause and is currently “working on a software update that will deliver improvements.”

Unfortunately no timeframe has been provided for the release of this update so we’ll just have to wait and see when it lands. Similar complaints have been made by some Lumia 730 users as well, it is believed these issues stem from the AMOLED displays inside these devices, particularly the gradient and hue settings which can be disturbed in select lighting conditions.

Hopefully a software fix will be enough to take care of these issues. We’ll update you when Microsoft pushes out this update.
