Minecraft Creator Purchases Mansion For $70 Million

markus-notch-perssonMarkus “Notch” Persson, the creator of the insanely popular game Minecraft, has set a new record this time around – although it has nothing much to do with the gaming community, but touches on real estate instead. Basically, Notch has picked up a mansion in swanky area that we all know and love as Beverly Hills, California, for a whopping $70 million.

The John Aaroe Group, which is a real estate firm that sold the property, claimed that this is the “highest price ever paid for a home in Beverly Hills”. I wonder what celebrities would think of this, taking into consideration that Notch is no Hollywood superstar, or a singer who has amassed more Grammys than you can shake a stick at. In fact, Notch actually beat out power couple Jay-Z and Beyonce, among other rich people, in purchasing the mansion.

The home itself has 23,000 square feet of space, where it overlooks Los Angeles and comes with a view of the Pacific Ocean. There is an “infinity pool” located outdoor, where fountains installed there can be controlled via your iPad. Other “amenities” include vodka and tequila bars, a candy room, an 18-seat tiered screening room, a kitchen that would make any chef proud, and a stunning 18-foot onyx dining room table that can seat two dozen.
