Nexus 6 Does Have Water Resistance Capabilities

When we talk about the Nexus 6 from Google, we are more or less smitten by the high powered specifications – namely a huge 6” QHD display that is easy on the eyes, a quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor that blows away results in performance benchmarks, a 13MP camera with optical stabilization, but definitely not water resistance. That is more or less the domain of rugged smartphones as well as the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S5 or the Xperia Z3.

However, it seems that Motorola and Google have remained silent on this “quality”, where Motorola has listed the Nexus 6 as”water resistant”. Do bear in mind that “water resistant” is a very different creature from being waterproof, and since it is not IP-certified, you might want to take some extra caution when using this as it pours cats and dogs out there. Thanks to a special nano-coating which is used by Motorola, it is water resistant, but it looks as though it can also survive a dunk just like what you see in the video above. Even more interesting is, it was being charged wirelessly while taking a bath, now how about that?

More importantly, the dunked Nexus 6 continued to function like normal a few days afterwards, showing no ill effects from the situation.
