Valve first unveiled the Steam Controller back in 2013 and since then it has evolved considerably. The design has been tweaked multiple times with concepts containing additions like touch-pad. Valve showed off the initial version at CES 2014 which didn’t even have face buttons, thumbsticks or even a directional pad. According to a report Origin PC CEO Kevin Wasielewski has confirmed that the Steam Controller design has finally been locked in and that it will be shown off to the public in a couple of months.

In a new report GameStop says it has heard from Origin PC CEO Kevin Wasielewski who confirmed that the Steam Controller design has been finalized at last, and that the public can expect to see it this March at the Game Developers Conference 2015 which takes place in San Francisco.

Valve isn’t present at the Consumer Electronics Show 2015 and won’t even host a developers conference this year, but will show the public what it wants to see at the Game Developers Conference in March.

Wasielewski said that Valve went through the process of revamping the controller three or four times as more user feedback came in. “And now their controller is finalized. So now they’re going to production,” adding that Valve will be present at GDC to make the announcement.
