Valve has confirmed that it’s going to provide updates as well as free games for Mac users who can’t use the Steam Link or Steam Controller right now, because both products don’t have the required support for Mac. The company has sent out emails to early buyers confirming that they will soon receive updates that brings the required support and as compensation for their troubles Valve will also provide them free games.

The email confirmed that Steam Link isn’t working as it should with Macs, and that the Steam Controller doesn’t support gamepad emulation on Macs, however people who are using the Steam Beta client will be able to use keyboard and mouse emulation.

Valve puts the blame on “temporary software issues” in the email and promises that an update will be released in a few weeks that will bring support for the Controller’s gamepad emulation on Mac.

As far as the Steam Link is concerned Valve said that it’s got an update in the pipeline which will bring full support, it advises gamers to use Steam Beta so that they can receive updates as soon as possible.

Aside from the updates Mac users will also receive the Valve Complete Pack which is a $100 value, it brings all of Valve’s games including unreleased titles, those who want to return the hardware can now do so in 60 days instead of the normal 30 and still get to keep the free games.
