BlackBerry Classic Verizon Launch Date Confirmed

We reported a couple of weeks back that Verizon might launch the BlackBerry Classic on February 26th. Apart from Big Red, AT&T is the only carrier that will sell this device, and it has already gone ahead with the launch. Verizon kept quiet about the date but word has come in today from BlackBerry itself. The company has confirmed the BlackBerry Classic Verizon launch date.

The BlackBerry Classic has a 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 16GB onboard storage with microSD card support, a 3.5-inch HD display with Gorilla Glass 3, 2,500mAh battery and BlackBerry 10.3 OS.

It is meant for those hardcore BlackBerry users that just can’t live with the QWERTY keyboard and the iconic key belt which contains the trackpad, back button, BB key and buttons to pick up and reject calls.

BlackBerry Classic also comes with the Amazon Appstore preinstalled. Users can directly install Android apps from there, and BlackBerry World will be available to them as well.

The smartphone is compatible with Verizon’s 4G LTE network and is XLTE-Ready. Those who purchase it from Big Red on the MORE Everything plans will also receive 25GB free storage on Verizon Cloud.

BlackBerry Classic Verizon launch date is February 26th, customers will be able to purchase it online, and starting March 5th Verizon is going to have it in stores as well.

Customers will pay $99.99 if they go with a two year contract after a $50 mail-in rebate. BlackBerry Classic can also be purchased on the Verizon Edge installment plan.
